Pediatric Dentistry
After completing dental school, a Pediatric Dentist receives three additional years of training for the treatment of infants, children, teens and special needs patients. The thoughtful approach taught by this advanced training accommodates the unique developmental, maturational and emotional needs of young patients. In addition, it equips pediatric dentists to handle the problems that occur with children’s mouths, such as tooth decay, delayed loss of baby teeth, oral habits and dental emergencies. This education also complements Dr. Parker’s orthodontic training perfectly, giving him a unique treatment perspective which accounts for growth, jaw development and the position of a child’s erupting teeth.
